We’re excited to introduce Ben, our talented Head Brewer! Ben moved to Squamish in 2016, drawn by the area’s outdoor lifestyle and the quaint community to raise children in. When he’s not brewing, you’ll find him spending time with his family, biking, skiing, hanging out by the river, or checking out what’s new at Pearls.
Ben’s brewing journey began in 2011 through his passion for homebrewing and involvement in the Vancouver Homebrewers Club. His favourite beer to brew? IPAs. He loves their versatility and the creative freedom they offer. When it comes to enjoying a beer himself, Ben reaches for a lager—admiring their subtle complexity and the skill it takes to brew a great one.
Before joining us at Howe Sound Brewing, Ben was the head brewer at Backcountry Brewing where he further refined his craft. Now, his go-to beers here are Sky Pilot Pale Ale or Pilsner Plunge, two brews that reflect his love for balance and flavour.
